No loss of life. I call that a resounding success! Sorting out what really happened, will take time, but no one was hurt. Best possible outcome. Cheers! |

No loss of life. I call that a resounding success! I'll be honest, a few dead bad guys doesn't go astray. The way criminal justice systems work in the west they'll be out soon and then go back to their old criminal ways (and probably in Britain the way British immigration works). |

Considering what these folks could have done, they got off easy. Hopefully, they will be provided with free room and board in a luxury gated community for a good long time. |

Given the fact that "hijacking" and "threat to life" were put in quotes, whether the stowaways truly presented a threat is rather iffy. |

D***! One of them might have been the Nigerian Oil Minister bringing me the 37m $ he promised! LOL! In reality, yes, a good outcome, well executed. Maybe 'hyped' up a bit in reporting… BUT… the blokes 'going in' can never be certain that they will come 'out' of ANY situation. Good job, lads! A ship that size that is not in control is a massive risk in many ways…even if it looks light in the water. One wonders, however, how 'stowaways' were on board…and not restrained? Of course, 'restraint' may be an infringement of 'Human Rights'… But, I have a suspicious mind sometimes. And, as commented, WE will probably end up 'stuck with them' in one way or another. BUT, our blokes did the biz! |

It's nice to see decisive action being taken BEFORE hostages were murdered. |

I find it interesting that the press doesn't seem to be labeling them as pirates, even though virtually ALL the crew had to run and hide in their "safe room" until they could be rescued by the SBS. It is also interesting that the threats made by them of injury, and/or death to the crew also seem to be downplayed by the media too. It's net every day that the SBS (or SAS for that matter) are called in to rescue a ship's crew so close to the British coast. I'm pleased that the SBS were able to complete such an effective raid so quickly, since otherwise things could have escalated rather quickly, with much more grim results for those manning the vessel. |
