My sixth 1/72 M4 is done. Pont de Kehl is a Dragon model of an M4A3 105, unusual in the 2eme DB as they only ever had three (the rest were M4 105s it seems). It and Beauce II were very late war arrivals, but I am sure got to Paris at some stage!

12th Cuirassiers crew, a unit I associate more with a ridge south of Brussels. Transfers by Braille Strike as for most my "division". Now I really must get an HVSS M4 (they did have some, again 1945)

Gives me an excuse to show all my AFVs. Five different Sherman types and even the two M4A2s are very unalike. I forgot to put in the M8 HMC and there is also the M5 half track, scout car, ambulance, plus some trucks and jeep still in their boxes.

There's a hellofalot of work in that group. I like the effect of the back-drop also.

Very nice work indeed Mr D.

The crews bring them to life.

Best wishes,

Chris

Really rather stunning. I would be afraid to touch them to play with them as though I were handling someone's display models. Can't wait to see some pictures of them in action. If your work with terrain is even half as good as your model skills will be something.

Thanks all. Much appreciated.

The master plan has always been to just display these on small bases. Cobbled streets, the occasional lamp standard, the Parisian shopfront and I have most of what is needed….all but the time. Gaming with no two tanks the same would be a nightmare!

Soon as this was done I had to start on the Prussian cavalry for the Waterloo project.

Next, here, will be an M4A3 76 and an M4A3 105 HVSS (they did have a couple but most were M4 105 HVSS). Christmas is coming early this year and they are on order.

Well again thanks for the comments
I have to acknowledge a debt here. My interest was prompted by many a posting on TMP from Foxbat, who went far closer to creating a true division!

A treasure trove on the 2eme DB is this site;
2db.forumactif.com
It is all in French but Google will translate for you (click on Partager) with some very amusing results. The 12th Cuirassiers become the leatherworkers for example. The contributors have encyclopaedic knowledge and can identify any vehicle in seconds.
The 2eme DB must have been the most photographed unit of WWII it strikes me. You can, for example, find every French Sherman or M10 TD of WWII listed alphabetically here;
