My 8-year old Grandsons (twins) always pester me to break out the wargame stuff when they come over.
They are actually getting good at setting up their own battlefield terrain for an afternoon battle. I have those classic David Greenspan maps from the Bruce Catton American Heritage book that they use a guide and for ideas.

Very nice! I have game with my grandsons (7 and 11) in ACW, SYW and WWII – they like the tanks best
