Hi, I have a Polish and Hussite army based for Warmaster however I have moved house and have no idea if I still have the rulebooks or army lists, I think I lent them out years ago and have no idea to whom. I looked online and people are looking for silly money (all power to them if they get what they are looking for), so what are the "best" rules for the period? I have looked at Kallistra but I don't want to buy terrain to play. (is it necessary or would a hex movement aid work, ie a 60o angle for facing?). Warhammer I think might be a little clunky but I know where those books are. cheers Any thoughts will be appreciated jon |

Hail Caesar has a fansite for fantasy rules and is the modern time grandchild of WM. |

You can't go wrong using To the Strongest Rules. The rules are inexpensive, the army lists are free, and the rules are great. Cheers! |

I knew I should have been more clear, these are historical armies and were based for warmaster. Basically looking for a medieval ruleset that has multi based figures. sorry for the confusion jon |

Rick Priestley used to have the PDFs of the rules available as a free download (legit), but his old site may be gone, especially as he's now with (is?) Warlord Games. I did find other copies online, but they may not be legit sources, so no links. |

To the Strongest is basing neutral and is a ripping fun game. My club found Hail Caesar to really drag once armies got close. I have not played Clash of Empires but they looked interesting to me: link |

As above, you can use any basing system in To the Strongest. It is a good game and moves fast. |

There's any number of applicable rules for multi-based figures (DBMM and ADLG are a couple that hasn't been mentioned yet), but Hail Caesar basically is a latter-day version of Warmaster for historicals. |

Sword and Spear would work well with your multibased figures. Units must be of equal frontage but this can be any size, depending on your basing. |

I looked online and people are looking for silly money (all power to them if they get what they are looking for), so what are the "best" rules for the period? I looked just now. $24 USD on Ebay (Buy It Now w/free shipping) and $15 USD on the BGG Market…. Doesn't sound silly to me…. Dave |

Check out Warmaster Revolutions. It is the unofficial 3rd edition of Warmaster and is available for download online for free. wm-revolution.com |

Try this link for Warmaster Revolution, your army could be used for Kislev. link There is also a Facebook group for Warmaster Ancients & Medieval link |

If you used to play Warmaster with historical armies then Warmaster Revolution might be you best choice as it is a free version of Warmaster that incorporates changes to resemble Warmaster Ancients. So kind of reverse-engineering….. |
