Most images I have found show bare hands rather than gloves. Napoleonics mostly show gauntlets or gloves. Any advice or opinion on this please. |

Now that is a very good question! You would suppose that at least some of the team would wear gauntlets, but is not much evidence of this; I reviewed some of my sources including one with a number of contemporary photos and etchings – while mounted teams are not common, the few that I have seen seem to show bare hands except for the occasional officer with gauntlets No question that working the guns was done bare-handed, and it seems that was the case for the artillery teams too |

Gauntlets were not an item of issue from any evidence I have seen. Reins rarely are that hard in hands. Hollywood loves them. Tom |
