After a long interval Gringo 40s has released three more Mamelukes (wielding a battle mace, an axe and a Blunderbuss, the latter chap now mounted). I found the early releases great fun to paint in their exotic rig, but this figure is superbly finished;

Best they go check history first. That's not a battle axe- it's a wood cleaver… like taking a knife to a gun fight… nice detail tho! |

How I do recall the original with the hanging sabre. Great figure, but I had to rotate his head for firearm safety. (seen in 1815 French boring rig of course)

superb Vignette Liam,,as you say the 1815 uniform lacked the punch of colour of the earlier multi-coloured uniforms..still there were so few of them at Waterloo,,no one noticed them! cheers Ged gringo40s.com gringo40s.blogspot.com |
