Actually its urban area was much larger, but the unknown creator of this image mostly wanted to depict the city's architectural and urban features. In the foreground there is More
the rectangular commercial harbour and beyond that we can see Kothon (Κώθων), the round military harbour. The islet of the admiralty lies in the centre of Kothon. The strong defensive wall by the sea is also shown. On the hill lies Byrsa (Βύρσα), the acropolis of the city and last refuge of its defenders in case that the urban area had fallen to an invading enemy. The Temple of Eshmun, one of the main deities of the city, is also shown. Finally, on the right of the image lies Megara, the rural area (with a few urban settlements) of the city."
