I am having a problem sourcing BUAs for my 15mm DBA 3.0 armies. Most of the 15mm offerings are too large a footprint for me but there seems to be a dearth of anything in the smaller scales. Can anyone suggest a source? I am looking for anything, really, but a temple or agora or farm buildings suitable for greeks/romans or the "not-so-civilised" nations would be perfect.

Regards,

10mm or N scale models would look well for 15mm DBA.
Timecast UK have a number of lists that would work for ancient/medieval.

I am sure others will chime in with more recommendations.

I have not purchased any but prefer to make my own models.
Here is a Celtic village made from scrap styrene and Milliput.

You can also build whole cities or towns in small scales:
Brigade Models 1:1000 Small Scale Scenery: link
Valiant 1:900 scale: link
Irregular 2mm scenery: link

If you don't want to go that small, you can look around for 6mm buildings, like these:
Leven Miniatures: levenminiatures.co.uk
Irregular 6mm: link
Baccus: link
Timecast: link
Or many, many others.

There may be some 3mm buildings too.

Baueda has a good variety of things. The BUAs in DBA are too small in area to use a model of what they really are – you end up with something representative instead.

City, smaller scale as suggested to show a or an aerial view or something like that. Maybe a Church, or famous building for that army. Which could be used as an Edifice. City gates (Baueda has some nice stuff)

Fort – single watchtower, part of stockade, maybe a couple of figures guarding something

Edifice – something cool from that civilization, not to scale, such as a pyramid

Hamlet. Outbuilding, some sheep, single house

For Hamlets and Edifices, whatever you have needs to be removable, leaving a completely flat base

For most people, a piece of felt works great, anything more is a bonus. Which reminds me, I really need some rivers

I have gotten many useful BUA's from Miniature world maker.
miniatureworldmaker.com.au

The prices are quoted in Australian dollars which are a bit less than US dollars and UK pounds. They have all sorts of small towns, villages and other useful Terrain.

Thanks, all great suggestions – some I have or will get for later periods but very little in the Ancient period. I actually prefer to scratch build where possible & have made columned structures using 6mm wooden dowelling which comes nicely ribbed but I need something thinner (the 3mm dowelling is smooth) so I can use enough columns to make the building look good with a smaller footprint. Does anyone have any suggestions of suitable materials for scratch building in 6-10mm scale?
