The various Flames of War era books seem to have subtle difference. Is there by any chance somewhere that they are all laid out? We play WWII Arab Israeli and 1980' team yankee. And we keep missing some of the rules changes. Ie in Team Yankee there is no Time on Target.p |

Is it even humanly possible to keep up with the many changes? |

There have been 4 iterations of the rules. I came in on V2. Immediately V3 occurred. The only real difference, as far as I was concerned, was that the V3 "codices" dropped a lot of modeling detail, like how to use the 8th Army decals, and translations of Soviet "patriotic slogans". One thing I noticed was that unlike WRG points, the points cost for tanks depended very much on the time frame. Thus in Early War, Matildas were hideously expensive. In Mid War, not so much. WRG had a points system based on first principles. FoW had a points system based on how well they would do in period. Very subjective. My group hasn't bothered with V4, since it just looks silly. Ironically, the hard core WWII players hated FoW because it was too simplistic. V4 took the bull by the horns, and dummied it down. |
