So, I have thousands of H&R Miniatures, which generally include lots of mounted and unmounted officers. I am wondering if there is any practical way I can turn 1000 of these mostly Napoleonic officers into Ottomans. In other words, does anyone have a good way to convert a 1mm cap into a 2mm Turban, like, 1000 times? Related question: What about adding weapons, like swords, lances or bows? Thanks for any responses! |

Sounds very fiddly and more effort than its worth to be honest. |

The Prince's response makes sense to me, but if for some reason I had to do it…. I'd try to use a typical head from one of the figures (I wouldn't remove the head from the figure, but instead use the figure as a handle to hold the head while I worked) and cut the cap down to form an armature on which to sculpt the turban. Then I'd sculpt a turban on to the head, and when the turban dried I'd cut the head out from underneath the turban. I'd then resin cast turbans for all the figures. Not easy, but it's the only practical solution I can imagine. |

Why not try Irregular Miniatures' 6mm Ottomans? |

I'd probably find something to dip them in some adhesive or other that produced a suitable "blob" that set hard enough. Some experimentation might produce results? |

Some good responses, including Prince Alberts'. I tried super tiny beads, which look perfect, but it takes too long per head. I also tried a dollop of white glue. Might try greenstuff next. |

A blob of greenstuff is the first thing that popped into my mind. Maybe tiny brush bristles for lances? |

I didn't mean to shut the idea down or to be dismissive. My preferred scale is 10mm and I find myself removing heads, inserting pins and pinning new heads in place on these tiny figures. I have also converted 10mm WW1 French hotchkiss him teams into zouaves but for any of these I may only do it for a dozen or so figures in an army. For a turban one might use two part putty to wrap around a shako but to change the uniform of the officers into resembling the ottoman dress sounds tedious and I can't think of means to do it assembly line style. |

I'd try pulling strands of cotten from cotten balls. coat in elmers glue and wrap around the existng hat. then once dry trim to suit. |

Take a mold off a mameluke turban in the form of a matçhstick tip. Roll small beads of green stuff ,cut off the hat put a small Bead of putty and press with the mold |
