I am looking at starting a small Union army using the 28mm plastic Perry figures. Has anyone had experience with the GW Contrast paints, I have seen a few pics but the colours looked dark/dirty. I am only looking at a quick gaming standard. thanks |

Hi What is your email? I have copies of the old army painter pages for the dip method for ACW that I will send you. Bill D |

Interested to know how you got on. You do have to undercoat with one of two very light coloured sprays. Any area unpainted or chipped then shows up starkly. I have found this range very useful for mass producing horses, with very nice highlights. But a true matt varnish is then essential as the coat is very thin. |

I used Ultramarines Blue (jackets and caps), Space Wolves Grey (trousers), Black Templar (boots and belts) and Wyldwood (rifles).

@johnskot, Was curious how you made out with your Union army painting project and if you ended up using Contrasts or not. I just finished up a good chunk of my Epic Scale ACW and used almost 100% Contrast paints. Here's a link to the post: TMP link |
