OK, Micheal Collins Himself … You have my attention, and your past thoughts on things like Regulating Battalions have interested me. But please tell us a little more. Before I send you six quid, would your solo approach be transferable to other Grand-Tac rules, like Age of Eagles or Big Bloody Battles? |

Think in total, you would pay 18.75 PS as you would need the core rules as well. |

1 turn equals 4 minutes?? That's not Grand Tactical, its minutiae. Kim |

@ larentue The solo rules are best used with Grand Manoeuvre but may be applicable with some adadptation to other rule sets. So, (@Dave Jackson), it is not absolutely necessary to buy GM Napoloenic rules as well. The references to various nations deploeyments and battle arrays may give you more Napoleonic "flavours" in a game. So that more sense may be nmade of them, there is a guide in the solo rules module describing the battle arrays of the major European powers – this is taken from my napoleonic rules. @ KimRYoung You`re referring to my Napolenic rules rather the solo module and so the points made previously apply! Grand tactics are by definition the extension of tactics. But manoeuvres are accomplished with larger formations and so with rules like those for regulation and the adoption of battle arrays the game moves rather more quickly than some old-fashioned rules that allow players to easily mirco-manage individual battalions. GM Napoleonic rules are not concerned with minutiae, but as they represent the ways in which units were controlled in the period, they are flexible to be used at brigade-army levels. If you have more questions about the rules, please ask me via email: contact@grandmanoeuvre.co.uk |

For Mr. Young, GM Napoleonic rules are designed to make games like this one possible – It is a variation upon d`Erlon`s attack at Waterloo:
And for Mr. larentue, you`ll find an example of the solo rules at work on this page: TMP link |
