Continuing my Darkest Africa project to recreate the Karonga War I have converted up some Nkonde warriors to be allies of the British.

Great painting and research work on a fascinating ally for the Brits!

Thanks Durban glad you like them.

One of them seems to be wielding a sword like weapon, instead of a spear or war club. What is that?

Grelber@ no swords they are all armed with spears and clubs. There are a couple of different club styles in the mix though one is very straight and the other is curved.

I found written, but no pictorial evidence, of Nkonde war clubs so having nothing better to go on, I just left the original Dinka ones, from the base miniatures, on my conversions here are the original miniatures

OK, I saw the guys with the baseball bat like straight clubs.

to be fair Grebler the Dinka war clubs do look quite blade like from certain angles

Going clubbing certainly had a different meaning, back in the day!
