Thanks, looks pretty easy. I use a mix of paint, white glue and sand. I change the color of the paint to suit the subject.

That will certainly work, all depends on the look you want from it, I always think that a good base lifts mediocre figures and highlights good ones. The method is certainly simle enough, please do ask if I can help in any way.
