Was it the tunic and soft cap for both sides? Was there really much difference between the two? Or was it like the English and American civil wars, with little difference in the uniforms except the occasional color trend and field symbol? Thanks in advance! |

The main type of uniform for all parties to the conflict is the Russian uniform of the Great War period. The regulated color of the Russian uniform of that period of the uniform is light gray-green (the color of green dried peas). The most important difference between most of the white armies from the Red Army (and some others) is the presence of the insignia of the former Imperial Army or similar ones (cockade and shoulder straps) in the White Army. In the White Army, foreign uniforms were widespread, mainly British. In the Red Army in 1919, an original uniform appeared, but it had a rather limited distribution. "Creativity" was widely developed in the troops of all sides, when original and unusual uniforms were created for some units and subunits. The Red Army often used stocks of the pre-war colorful parade uniforms of the tsarist army. |
