According to the Treaty of Fountainbleu in 1807, three Spanish columns were to march into Portugal in support of Junot's column. Has anyone found any info on which specific Spanish units were involved? Google fu does not seem to like my search terms… All I can sort out is that some of these units joined Blake's Army of Galicia. I think. |

"Estados de la organización y fuerza de los ejércitos españoles beligerantes en la península, durante la guerra de España contra Bonaparte" has the following units shown as destined for Portugal, 4 May 1808 – location in brcakets & then the Army listed against: 3rd Battalion Walloon Guards (Portugal) – Andalusia Line Inf Regt Rey (split between San Sebastian, Oporto & Ares) – Galicia Line Inf Regt Principe (Portugal) – Galicia Line Inf Regt Cordoba (split between Portugal & Isla de Leon)- Andalusia Line Inf Regt Zaragoza (split between Oporto & Cadiz) – Galicia Line Inf Regt Mallorca (split between Oporto & Badajoz) – Galicia Line Inf Regt Murcia (split between Portugal & San Roque) – Andalusia Line Inf Regt Aragon (Portugal) – Galicia Line Inf Regt Voluntarios de la Coruna – (split between Oporto & Ferrol) – Galicia Light Inf Regt Voluntarios de Valencia (split between Tarifa & Lisbon) – Catalonia Line cavalry Regt Alcantara (Oporto) – Catalonia 1st battalion of the 1st Division Provincial Militia (Setubal) – Prisoners 2nd battalion of the 1st Division Provincial Militia (Setubal) – Prisoners 2nd Division Provincial Militia (Lisbon) – Prisoners 2nd battalion of the 4th Division Provincial Militia (Oporto) – Galicia |
