Hi there, I saw some comments on the lack of reading material on ancient naval and so I decided to review some of the things I am reading. These cool articles are freely available on Academia. Please find the review on my blog here

I am very grateful for this. It's not too hard find lots of sources, but short useful reviews of sources are very handy. Two comments, though. First, the neat Greek font is nifty, but display fonts are for headers only. It's very difficult to read a whole paragraph in such an unusual font. I've found your blog useful a couple times, but don't go there often because it hurts. Second, it's nice to link to the papers and indicate which are available for free and which you need to pay for. Obviously we can google the title and author and find the paper, but links are nice.

Thanks!

All the articles mentioned are free, I downloaded them yesterday. It is a bit of a pain going through the motions each time but for good and free stuff, I can live with that. Their search engine found the doc with a cut & paste of the title from Valerio's article – not difficult, no need to Google at all.

If their access system is like some other document recovery sites then a simple link can't be used to directly access a paper. If I get a chance after the weekend I'll check.

They want you to join & contribute or subscribe & use the more sophisticated facilities. The freebies are tasters but they is still tons of free stuff there.

Got to agree about the font. Having been involved in web & document design training it is a mistake often made by both beginners and more experienced 'creative' types.

Avoid 'fancy' fonts for the block text, save them for titles and be sparing with them even then.

Many thanks for the useful comments. I will especially use those on the paper links.

As for the font, I initialy planned to blog only photos of my sculpt, with very little text. Then it kind of went out of hand.

I know the font can be annoying, but I like it very much so… I am not sure I'll be able to push myself to change. This is such a radical project, sculpting myself a range with no experience and ability to do so, and I am doing it just for its own sake..but I'll see if there s something as silly but more readable!
