I have just completed five units of mounted men-at-arms for the War of Burgundian Succession, 1477-1492. Three French units, two 'Burgundian' units.

Really nice! By chance I'm currently doing 5 units of 18 Perrys for the Italian Wars, so I can appreciate just how much work is involved. |

Those look awesome and also intimidating if you are in front of them. |

Now that's some real heavy metal. |

Thank you all, here are some more pictures. These are of course mostly Perry plastics, but there are lots of metals mixed in to get more variety (putting the metal Perrys on the plastic horses requires a little conversion work). Likewise there are some of the recently released Steel Fist late medieval mounted men-at-arms in there too, mostly converted to go on the Perry plastic horses. Headswaps on all the metals wherever possible, and numerous plastic conversions.

Great stuff. Good conversions and painting, and – as far as I can judge it – looking as authentic as possible. I see one unit of 20, the rest just fielding 18? Do you plan to do infantry, too? |

There's two units of 20, three of 18. I've already got infantry for the 'Burgundians', lots of German mercenaries. My next project is French infantry – ordonnance longbowmen and franc-archers. |

I'm interested to see that the leather straps on some of your horses don't have the normal studs- did you trim them away? |

I am looking forward to see infantry from your workshop :-) Is there any reason for putting 20 or 18 in a unit, other then composition? |

No real reason other than it looks good, and looks 'right'! Well, I like large units. For cavalry 10 or 12 doesn't do it for me, gotta be at least 16. My rules don't have units set at certain sizes, I can have them any size. I did have them a mix of 16, 18 and 20, but the 16-strong just din't look 'right', so I had to paint a few more. I think 18 (2 ranks of 9) is the best looking to be honest. |

Good reason! Tabletop is for fun and looks – so "looks good" is among the best reasons I know :-) If you have other units ready or ever play a battle, please let us see them… |

I posted my German and Swiss infantry a while back, if you search for them? |
