"These sites were once training grounds, airfields, and state-of-the-art reconnaissance installations. Now, they're abandoned…."

There is a TV show called "Mysteries of the Abandoned" that focuses on stuff like this. Recommended.

Indeed and some of the installations on the link have been featured.

Mysteries of the Abandoned is great.

If I ever have to go to North Dakota, I'm definitely going to visit Nekoma.

A favorite of mine is Fort Knox in Bucksport, Naibe. It's typical of the pre-ACW forts except that it is made of locally-quarried granite. The position includes 2 water batteries, a couple of shot furnaced and several period cannon. These include 2 15" Rodmans. It is in perfect shape.

It is amazing how much of abandoned structures there are worldwide. And most don't even know they are there …

There was an amazing blog about Russian LARPers playing on an abandoned Russian naval base. It was incredibly cool!

I'm missing Urban Ghosts Media right now…

Many urbexers on Youtube will come across these sites, from Exploe With Us and Wonderhussy Adventures infiltrating ranges, through Exploring the Unbeaten Path wandering through abandoned warships and airbases, Broken Window Theory and The Proper People camping out in Cold war radar sites and Exploring with Fighters digging through old bunkers and even onto the Maginot Line.

Be aware that some of them are not big on stabilising the camera.
