"DBN are tactically challenging Napoleonic Wargame Rules, produced by KISR Publications, designed for fighting Grand Tactical Battles at Army/Corps Level. In fact these rules are so adaptable they can be used for fighting battles at any level…" dbnwargaming.co.uk Amicalement Armand

Something thing I'd like to try as an easy entry into Napoleonic's for a former DBx player. I'm also very much in favour of boardgame sized playing areas. Unfortunately, I find it difficult to stay motivated enough to finish the, relatively, small number of figures necessary to play. |

Check out the Napoleonic Era Micro-Scale (1799-1815) paper figures which you can download free from link – you should be able to print and stick together a couple of small armies pretty quickly. |

With its modest requirements for miniature numbers, table size and game length time, DBN, refined by the authors over a long period of time, has a lot going for it. Every game I've had with it has been great fun. As some recent youtube AAR videos show, it also works great for solo games. In these videos, the author carefully provides a very clear illustration of how the rules work. Well worth a look! |

I've been intrigued by them for awhile. It is a reasonably priced way to field a lot of different nationalities/armies. |

Absolutely a reasonable priced way to field lots of different armies rather than spending years just to complete 1 huge pair of armies! |

@Durban Gamer, How do you think DBN matches up aginst HFG? |

I played the 1st edition of DBN (I think) in a Peninsular game at Recon in Leeds a few years back. I've only got the old files for HFG, but would probably go with DBN for my fast-play games, particularly if it's been revised now. |

All, Been looking at this now for a while, it'd be a good (and cheap) way to indulge my occasional side projects. Does anyone do (free!) army lists for British in India 1803 time scale? Regards James |

For those interested I created a overview Video on the rules. IN my analysis i this these are good rules and worth while to give a go. I am inspired to create an examples document, to assist new players in learning the rules without anyone around to provide instruction. |
