After the refurbishment of the Muslim collection I began looking at other collections that could possibly receive a similar treatment. Inspired by a 10 part presentation of the Italian Wars from the Pike and Shot channel (YouTube) I inventoried my "Witcher" collection with a view to creating some historical armies.

Which armies to select was resolved by organizing the elements into historical pairs and running a series of test games and in less than a week 48 test games had been played. The links below will take you to those test games.

Some historical pairs were surprisingly balanced and therefor work was immediately begun to transform them. First pair done were the Scots Common plus Tudor English followed by the Kalmar Union and Swedes. Where applicable, livery were added, but on the whole, the new colour schemes were rather generic for each army. The flags and banners added the final touch.

Good idea! It's always good to find what I call "classic opponents." It makes for good fights and honors history.
Cheers!

Gentlemen,

Thank you for the kind word.
I am nearing the half way mark and should have more photos posted next week.
