Hi

I sell on E-bay and They have started thier own Payment system. Well so far its terrible. Ist payment take 3-4 business days to clear and be credited and then 3-4 to be transferred to your bank. Also It set up to do daily payout but skip days.

I only use PayPal. They have to allow alternate payment options. If neceassary, I will return to USPS Money Orders, or I will take my business elsewhere. Cheers!

Well I check something out. You can't buy something on e-nay and uses your E-bay balance to pay for it. You have to pay by paypal or CC.

Haven't had that problem---paid for something last week with combo of balance and cc? And just got money in my account today the same day guy paid me. Mind, I'm not a business, just sell from time to time.

So, Paypal isn't going to be a payment option with them in the future?

Yea, I'll just do the money order thing as well, if that is permitted, but last I recall, it was not, or was highly discouraged by most if not all sellers who want their money NOW.

Sounds like the eBay payment system sucks.

I had to go through more "security authentication" to leave feedback than to (one-click) buy things(!) :-o

Sounds awful.
Please keep us updated.
Thanks.

I've recently been buying on ebay with my credit card, and leaving feedback, both without any problems.

As a seller I am still using Paypal. I may switch over though since it sounded as though I could avoid the Paypal fees. Sadly the info is sketchy. I am still using Paypal for the time being.

I just bought a model kit on Ebay & used Paypal as usual. If it matters, it is from a seller in Russia.

Damon.

If you are a buyer, not much changes other than they seem to accept a few more methods of payment for your purchases.

If you are a seller, things have, or will, change for you at some point. Their website isn't very clear on many of the new changes so you have to pop around from page to page and try to piece it all together. Here is what I came up with.

By the end of 2021 all sellers will be required to use the new eBay pay out system. From what I've seen eBay is forcing sellers over to their new system or they won't be able to post listings. Right now there are only a very few categories that are not subject to this but by the end of 2021, will be.

According to eBay this is all great for sellers because now they don't have to manage that pesky third party payment system. You know, the one sellers apparently spent hours each week trying to figure out how to get their money from. Now eBay will conveniently do that for you.

They further add to the spin that they are saving you money because they charge a lower percentage. However once you do the math and add up all the other fees they added you'll find that this new "convenience" actually costs the same or even a little more money.

And if you thought paying the eBay fee on your shipping costs was fun, you will now have to pay on all the taxes collected as well.

Don't you love the convenience of it all?

I got an email saying I need to convert by the end of this month. I'm going to try to avoid this as long as I can. I guess I'll find out in a few weeks.

I only use PayPal and I try and avoid sellers who use Ebay's shipping system. Sometimes I can't get the stuff any other way though so I bite the bullet. I looked at the tracking and it was ridiculous: the parcel went across the USA from seller to Pitney Bowes and then from them back across the country and across the border. Idiotic. I guess they are keeping the truck drivers employed though, so I suppose that is a good thing.

Update

So The Transfer system from Ebay to my Bank is Working and is only 1 day. Fee are lower than PP but they take the final value fee out first and also charge a .30 fee. The processing time from buyer to Ebay is 1 day to 2 days.
