…Motivation.

"There's a lot of different things you can do to improve painting and hobby motivation. Today I wanted to talk about what I feel is the #1 thing you can do, and that's to setup a dedicated hobby space.

Having to constantly take the time to pull out all your supplies whenever you get a free 15 minutes to paint can really hamper your desire to paint at all. This works if you've got an effective setup that just takes a few minutes every time, but if it takes 5-10 minutes to get everything you need, then you're just not going to bother.

With a dedicated setup you can sit down, paint for the short time you may have, and walk away after; there's no barrier. This was a game changer for me…"

Dedicated setup here. Still doesn't stop me from being fustrated by using the wrong colour to continue painting old forces that I forgot what color used I.

For me it is simply motivation. Patience helps a LOT. I am fairly decent when I have it but….usually rush along. But I get it done…when I am motivated. I spend weeks away from my desks.

Uparmored, I keep a stack of index cards on my painting table to make notes on when painting uniforms. I then put them in a box in case I need to remember what colors I used previously.

Something interesting that I recently discovered is that there can be quite a bit of variation in the shade of colors of the same paint. I have several duplicate bottles of Vallejo paint which are slightly different shade. Just an interesting observation.

If you can just have a half an hour a day at the same time every day, you will be stunned how much can be panted.

I have my own space..which is great. Once I'm sat there I'm fine. Getting there…that's the thing
