Was a lot of fun! Had a great time as a volunteer working registration. |

Looks like your swag bag was better than mine. I don't remember anything as useful as a bottle holder, and I haven't forgiven them for the magnet yet. But yes, I will treasure the memory of The Last Convention for a long time. I'll probably tell my grandchildren about it. "Once there was an age undreamed of, when shining conventions lay spread across the world…" |

Have faith, RP. It will be so again! |

Intellectually I agree with you, Panzer IV. No one thing will work very well, but the eventual vaccine will have some effectiveness, and they'll lie about how much. Treatments will improve, the most vulnerable populations will be dead or isolated--and people will be too bored to maintain the panic. My guess would be 2022. Maybe even the last half of 2021. (Of course at some point, I'll be too old to drive 500 miles to a convention.) Emotionally, the football has been jerked away a few too many times already. They could at least spare us the whole "we're doing this out of our concern for you" speech, together with the "our convention would have been less than optimum" bit. And I would pay money never to hear someone with a job and a social life say "we're all in this together" again. There are lies you shouldn't have to put up with. |

Then there is the phrase "new normal", which makes me want to throat punch the utterer. |

It took a lot of skill and courage unknown, to catch the last wave and ride it in alone… …before the tsunami hit… |

Tumbleweed, you have to read "Lucifer's Hammer." Pay attention to the surfer. |

I did read the book many years ago. Yeah, you're right. But I was thinking of "Ride The Wild Surf" by Jan & Dean. |

I don't need no stinkin HMGS now that I have played 5 months by myself. Plus we had the wrong kind of governor. Hope to change that next year. I'll see you guys when I see you. Till then keep on gaming the best you can. I'm spending a lot of time on the computer Fall Out series of games and really digging Battle Royal Nuclear Winter in Fallout 76. |
vonLoudon | 31 Aug 2020 7:24 a.m. PST |
My team has won Battle Royal Nuclear Winter about 3 or 4 times. We were wiped out about a 100 times too. Hey, a win is a win. I have advanced from Level 0 to Level 35. So what if I die a lot. I know I have the love and respect of the 500 or so teammates that were assigned with me including what's her name. I forget, but I'll always remember the dash, the courage, the stupid people that ran out suddenly or put their head up at just the right moment and plastered me with blood and guts. It's a nuclear jungle out there, with flames, atom bombs, and face to face combat with the enemy who often has cheat software. I don't care. That just makes me a better man. I can't afford the cheat software. |

Any hand sanitizer in them swag bags? After whats been going on in Lancaster the last 2 nights maybe they'll give out mini fire extinguishers next year in the swag bag. |

If I understand the location correctly, that is only a few blocks away from the Lancaster convention center. I thought we were avoiding all that sort of thing when we passed on the BCC some years back. LoL |

I'm not worried about Lancaster and the LCCC. I'd rather be there in 2021 than in Baltimore. Arrests were made. Bail was set at $1 USD million each for many of the adult defendants. If I were HMGS, I'd make that judge a special guest for Historicon 2021. Hope to see you there. |

I read somewhere that some of the rioting was due, in part, to hopeful Hcon attendees that didn't get a room reservation in the 15 mintues that rooms were actually available. :-) |

Arrests were made. Bail was set at $1 USD USD million each for many of the adult defendants. And rightfully so, given their nature as privileged people from outside the area coming just to burn and loot. |

Actually, according to FOX43, four of the original 8 people are from Lancaster County. link |
