Finally getting back to playing with some toys after a short (ahem) five year "retreat" from wargaming and modeling. Decided I'd build a terrain board and have another go at France 1940, starting with the BEF in 1/72 plastics… terrain table progress:
short video of the overall table now: foolsmatemag.com/1940/table.html tried my hand a some figs…
and a short video of these blokes on maneuvers: link
I also decided to go ahead and take a shot at converting some old Airfix universal carriers to the early war bren carrier style:
Thanks for looking and all the best! CH |

UPDATE: I built a little target practice tool for anyone who wants to take the 2 inch mortar and Boys AT rifle out for a spin on the heavy weapons range: link Enjoy! |

That first view with the ragged cardboard had me worried, but WOW, you turned that turnip into some beautiful landscape! |

That is an incredible amount of work for a very realistic terrain setup. It is beautiful. I hope you wring out of it, as much joy as humanly possible. Cheers! |

THanks to all for the comments and feedback! One thing I forgot to mention/show is that I did a layer of paper mache (newspaper, water, and white glue) over the cardboard before I added the ground texture and flocking which makes the board pretty hard and sturdy. And Glen, great to hear from you man! I hope you're well. It's always a pleasure to hear from one of the legendary commanders from back in the day… |

Have made a bit more progress since the original post--- Added another section of BEF infantry and made some progress on "pimping out" the bren carriers:
Cheers!
