Well we have seen just how wonderful ThomasPicton's Plancenoit looks. Here are a few more Prussian Cavalry to help capture it. 24 Hussars from Art Miniaturen and what wonderful models they are. I am actually beginning to question TOTS, The One True Scale, I have to admit.

6th Hussars, the vanguard in the march from Wavre and the first Prussian unit to take a casualty. Bit more work went into these than for the dragoons and Landwehr, but the quality of casting really helped, especially for the monogram on the sabretache.

It is a small scale (very small scale) contribution to a marvellous project, when compared with the efforts of others. But these I really did enjoy doing and the best thing for SWMBO is that they do not now join all the other 28mm stuff in the attic, but are entrusted to the post. Forgive the number of pictures here, but I have nothing so posh as a website;

I say resist the inspiration………..From Hussars, anyone in white uniforms and kilted highlanders may the Good Lord preserve us.

They really are fantastic and inspire me to get on with building the two sections of the diorama to the east of those already constructed, where these Hussars will try their luck. Many thanks, Deadhead!

Thanks to both of you.

I was initially deterred by the "active" poses of these figures, generally preferring to see cavalry "at rest", but was soon won over by their quality. Furthermore, they are far more in human proportions than any 28mm figures I have.

The Art Miniaturen range seems to have been much more extensive in the past. I can find lists on line of many poses that are no longer available, seemingly. I guess moulds wear out and new castings replace old, but I have been unable to get any info after a few e mails to the company.

George seems to be re releasing his old stuff as well as the new.

It used to be a very large range for Austrian, Prussian and French especially.

A lot of the castings were for the Crobern and Mockern dioramas hence the Nationalities.

Best wishes,

Chris

That explains it then. It may well be that the moulds have worn out and, over time we will see new versions.

I really was determined upon the Silesian Landwehr cavalry next (lancers who look more like Vistual Legion than Prussians). The company does troopers at rest but no "command set", even though their gallery shows a trumpeter and officer, and there was a code for such once. Four e mailed enquiries now but no response, so I may drop it. Shame
