In light of today being International Naval Wargames Day and Fred T Jane's birthday I have put together a fleet review of the 1:700th age of sail collection.

picture

The collection has grown steadily since October 2019 with the core collections for each of the main fleets developed to cover the British French and Spanish, and this is the first time all the models built so far have been out on the table together.

If you would like to see the how this scale of model looks en mass, I have put together some pictures covering each group in the collection.

Absolutely superb – thanks for sharing. I have ordered my first ever naval miniatures to celebrate International Naval Wargames day. The Peruvian and Chilean naval packs from Tumbling Dice for the War of the Pacific.

Very nice. I regret my group couldn't pull something naval together for this weekend's game.

Love what you are doing with those sails!

Nice toys

Our group managed a small naval action on Thursday and we're planning to do Trafalgar over the weekend at Call to Arms in Wellington (with Form Line of Battle)

Cheers

Thanks for your comments chaps, and glad you like the collection, which will continue to grow over the coming months in preparation for some planned games.

Hi Stewart,
Thank you, much appreciated.

I have a large collection of Langton 1/1200th myself that have been my preferred option but I really love the detail these big models offer the eye and am happy to encourage others to get into them if tempted.

You will find modelling and rigging ideas on the blog.

Cheers
JJ
