If anyone is looking for steel paper with an adhesive backing I'd like to recommend Bisbell in the UK. Their website is <www.bisbellmagnets.com>. I dealt with a gentleman named Oliver and he can be reached at <sales3@bisbellmagnets.com>. I was given the option of having the steel paper sheets shipped in a flat envelope or in a tube (I chose the flat envelope). I ordered 13" x 13" square sheets. I line my line my troop cases with them (I base my figures on magnets). However, they will cut to order. I received my order from the UK in less than a week (I live in California). I can't recommend them highly enough. |

Thanks, Robert Burke. I've got a ton of Really Useful Boxes that I need to line. |

I should add that the cost of postage was more than the cost of the 8 sheets I ordered. |

If you are in the US, Litko will also cut to order. Slightly more expensive per sheet but free shipping. |

I love Litko's bases and magnets. But I asked them about their flexible steel and here is what they said. "The largest area we can cut is 11.75x23.75 inches. Our material is 12x24 inches, we can supply raw material in 12x12 size for $9.99 USD each. We have no choice of colors, it is a dark grey fridge magnet rubber color with white paper backing, that is the only choice." I need 13" x 13" so their flexible steep is too small for me unless I want to do two smaller pieces and then put them together in my troop case. I also prefer white steel paper over dark grey. I think it's a nicer background for my painted figures. |

I may be able to help with this. I ordered a large roll of paper steel from the Rochester Magnetic Company back in 2005. I bought so much that I have not needed to order it again :) even after splitting it with friends. That is the downside – I had to order an entire 36" by 82 foot roll which was $445 USD plus shipping back then. Even with six guys buying in it was a substantial expense Looks like they still sell it – Paper Steel "A thinner and lighter magnetic receptive material alternative to RubberSteel is available in 0.010(in) thickness and 37"(in) width. One surface is printable and the opposite is paper or pressure sensitive adhesive." link Back then they also sold thicker 25 mil sheets 31.5" by 43.3" for 13 bucks each, minimum 10 sheets. No idea if this is still on offer. |
