Seems the US $1 USD trillion COVID includes about $30 USD billion in defence spending. Apparently F-35s, anti shipping missiles and AH-64s are critical to "to prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus, domestically or internationally." link |

At least two items is for Covid-19. 5,300,000,000 for Defense Production Act purchases related to the Covid-19 pandemic 705,000,000 for the Defense Health Program So some of its for the stated purpose. Expect there's more pork in the bill. |

A billion $ here, and a trillion $ there, sooner or later you are talking real money. Just to put it in perspective, we can all relate to a second of time. -1 million seconds equals 11 days -1 billion seconds equals 31 years -1 trillion seconds equals 31,710 years In other words, we are all screwed. |

No need to worry, since they can just print more. "FREE money" for everyone!!! Of things being tacked on to the spending bill, defense spending is the least of our worries, AND a good idea. |

They tacked social programs and other fat onto the last one. Should we be surprised? Both sides of the aisle can't do anything unless crap is added on to bills. |

Since stimulus and "printing money" has been the key word since GFC and now, how come we don't get hyper inflation? I guess it's more like Japan post bubble than Germany pre wW2? Some other economic forces like in Japan circa 1990 stop the hyper inflation?? Super low interest rates now normal in the West as well as Japan despite record .gov spending? Why? I'm dumb. School me. |
