This is the Dragon kit painted to represent one of the two available to 9thSS at Arnhem. Its got the standard muted ( we dont have a lot of paint) late war camo scheme, life colour paint through a Iwata B plus with all the usual panel washes, chips etc. Standard weathering with pastels etc.
Crew Adler ( as you'd expect! lol). L |

Someone bought me an expensive airbrush well over a decade ago. It is still in the attic, in its box, as I took to Napoleonics. It has never been opened. This work makes me think. and your photography is terrific. Shows the model off quite superbly. |

Thanks fellas. Well an airbrush is very useful for terrain/biulding work as well as for vehicles. Cant beat it for painting roofs and brickwork. Personally mine only comes out for German three colour camo schemes though lots of people use them for Allied stuff as well. I can just get the same effect with enamels with a lot less faffing around. Some use them for painting horses in 28 mm + the effect can be stunning. You'll need a compressor mind you. Hopefully its a named brand so spares/ alternative needles available. Warning though very easy to get obsessed once you start with em, I have 6 airbrushes lol L |

Question to the group – Do you put the skirts on and then paint, or do you paint, then attach the skirts? |
deadhead | 24 Aug 2020 9:29 a.m. PST |
I would look very silly if I did so….. I do not have the legs for it. Well you clearly are not going to get a sensible answer, so, before it drops off the radar, back to the top! Personally (very limited AFV modelling and only very recently at that) I use much Blue Tack to mask surfaces needing gluing and then spray away…before assembly. So paint and attach any day is better |

Makes sense, otherwise you are gluing to paint, which is not the best for keeping the skirts on the model. |
