Well the Prussian Dragoons are done and photographed, the Hussars are in the post, and so I have time to get back to my 2eme DB project. I am gradually getting to model every vehicle used by Leclerc's FF unit, up to August 44. I am waiting on new background photos of Paris (assuming I do ever find that lost memory stick) but poor old Tarentaise never made it that far alas. I have therefore shown it in front a French farmhouse (in a somewhat wintry scene I must admit). I added Champaubert, if only because two M4A2s could not show greater difference in detail. Both are Heller 1/72 of course (added turret cast armour to this one, instead of appliqué) and I truly do believe that one day my other two will be delivered (after three months and no response to e mails).

DH, not only are you doing bang-up modeling here, but your photo-vignettes are fetching also! Enjoying seeing your displays very much. |

Great modeling and I agree, I love the photo vignettes! |

Thanks both. The Heller kit is terrific and gives one loads of options for different Sherman manufacturers, whether transmission housing in the nose, drivers' hatches, gun mantlets, wheels, tracks etc. Only thing I had to do was the thickened cast side on the turret for Champaubert and new headlight guards for both. Tarentaise was 12 RCA and Champaubert 501 RCC. Both were destroyed but at least the latter got into Paris and will appear again (when I find my memory stick!) Decals were so out of register as to be unusable, but I will forgive that. I have loads. Useful review amongst many I found; link |

Excellent work, both the models and the photography. Without knowing the scale would be easy to mistake these for 1/35th. |

1/72nd! Yes indeed, these look even more impressive knowing they're "20mm". I mean the crew figures [and their faces!] look excellent – I was thinking a minimum of 1/56th scale. |
