"The same industry that's still moaning about the 70-year-old Blacklist is now banning/blacklisting a classic motion picture where the first African American actress/actor ever won an Oscar…

Heck, even George Clooney, in his own infamous Oscar Speech, took partial credit for Hattie McDaniel's victory… years before he was born… and now he's probably right on board throwing GONE WITH THE WIND into the cautious, politically-correct wind…

And yet, if it must be done, the only reason to ban such a magnificent-looking movie is that it's a tad overrated. Especially since the secondary male lead in Leslie Howard as Ashley Wilkes is so outrageously miscast, fitting his proper wife Olivia de Havilland as Melanie Hamilton but for the wonderfully cute and spunky, timeless beauty Vivian Leigh as Scarlett O'Hara to pathetically hold a torch for this dullard who resembles an anorexic goat is just… too much to fathom…"

Is it still acceptable to say 'blacklist' – especially in the context of GWTW?

Watch out, Armand! The Thought Police and enforcers of Newspeak will be after you!

Probably not, in the last five to ten years there indeed bloomed a small but growing strain of that strange language purge pest in the IT crowd, that wants such expressions banned.
Some of them with a lot of influence…

I just watched this for the first time a few months ago. Decent flick. Epic for its time(1939). Wrapped up War & Peace last night. Checking off bucket list items. What's next? I need to experience them while I can.

@ Night Owl
You may want to spend a day at a local Civil War Reenactment or visit a museum. I've a feeling that in the not too distant future, only one side will be represented.

Yes, all wrong media and movies should be banned. The local Neo Nazis can sit in their club room and watch Gone with the Wind and snicker, the evil bastards, and then be arrested and re-educated in re-education camps. They'll come out not remembering what Gone with The Wind was, luckily. No One will remember, eventually, in the new Utopia. No one will remember anything.
