This is a sight that would strike fear into the heart of any Frenchman – a whole company of Sharpes and Harpers charging down onto them from oe'r the hill and far away!

Indeed. If I were the French i would be expecting a "ruse de guerre" any moment now. Added to which I would not be able to kill any of the lead characters only the accompanying "red shirts". Fire a volley then run? Nice figures and a good background too. Salut martin |

Plot armour is more powerful than any cuirass out there! :) |

Double canister and the bayonet will make quick work of them. |

The Harper on the left looks good but the one on the right looks like he has a Star Wars blaster in comparison. Similarly, Sharps sword is enormous. Game over for the French fellows with that weaponary. Chris |

As per the 79th PA, there are few things that can't be solved with a battery of 12 pdrs, double cannister and a follow up charge by the Grenadiers à Cheval |

But the conclusion of the above print was even more terrifying: Farine's cuirassier brigade attacking them from the front and Jacquinot's line lancers taking them in the flank. |

The island of Haiti. Yellow jack will get them all. |

One of the reasons I can't stand more than five minutes of Sharpe is the fact that the buffoon is always bareheaded. 200 years ago, an officer would sooner be seen in public without his trousers than without his hat. |

Remember though that Sharpe was a battlefield commission of a "sewer rat" type of guy who disdained "gentlemen". |

@4th Cuirassier And of course for a gentleman still today…. Bizarely, in a twist of social norms, those habitually worn hats today are baseball caps, even when not playing baseball. Along with training shoes while not actually carrying out training. Whilst a hundred years or so later.. "Don't forget your stick Lieutenant" "Rather, Sir! Wouldn't want to face a machine gun without this" |

@Brechtel198 Fair comment. But you still have to vist Edinburgh Castle to see the Eagle of the 45eme Ligne. |

The island of Haiti. Yellow jack will get them all. British troops in the theater also suffered very heavy losses from disease, including yellow fever. That fact is usually overlooked… |

Yellow jack will get them all. "usually overlooked…" Evidently not. (It was almost the only fact) |

4th Cuirassier If you watched more than 5 minutes you might have seen that Sharpe regularly wears (or often, correctly, carries) his shako. But we are indeed fortunate we have you to provide an authoritative statement of officers' dress through a 6 year campaign? |

Find the cameramen and hide behind them. Those things cost real bucks. |

Would it rely on the John Crapoos having read the books in English? Obviously, the official translations in parlay voo might not have been entirely reliable. |
