Victrix just added some new renders of their upcoming Bavarian infantry. I have some of there Samnites and they are beautiful miniatures. I am sure some will be unhappy about the lack of long trousers which were worn on campaign as seen by Albrecht Adam, but still looking good. Also, looks like they fixed the short bayonet from their first test figure.

They do look really nice.
I am interested to see how the finished article looks alongside Perry and Front Rank.

Very nice. I hope that they do a version in campaign long trousers.

von Winterfeldt08 Jul 2020 5:42 a.m. PST

so all in breeches and gaiters? Parade dress usually not worn on the battle field, why no overalls as well.

Personal logo deadhead Supporting Member of TMP08 Jul 2020 6:54 a.m. PST

It would be much easier to convert breeches and gaiters to overalls, than the converse. Dead simple with a bit on Greenstuff on each lower leg. If the heads come separate what great conversion potential to cavalry and artillery also

MarbotsChasseurs08 Jul 2020 7:00 a.m. PST

Correct me if I am wrong, but these could easily be converted into 1809 Hesse-Darmsdtat in Spain and 1812 Hessian-Darmstadt in Russia with a head swap. I believe the jacket stopped slightly higher and there was a waistcoat, but probably easy changes.

isn't that the 1814 dress?

Decebalus08 Jul 2020 8:23 a.m. PST

I hope, they dont have the too short legs and too long bodies of the Victrix Austrians.

MarbotsChasseurs08 Jul 2020 8:38 a.m. PST

von W,

I was under the impression it was 1812, but I could be wrong.

Well if their new Naps are anything close to their ancients it should look more natural.

Yes, sure.

But let your imagination run wild and, if those heads come separate (Heck, if they do not, invest in a 15 or similar scalpel blade), and you stick them onto the new Perry plastic Austrian cavalry, you have almost any central Germany cavalry unit of the era.

OK, none there when it really mattered, but I accept there were minor skirmishes before 1815…

Marbot – similar jacket, with waistcot, on Polish and Wurtembergers. Lots of conversion/head swap opportunities.

von Winterfeldt24 Jul 2020 11:30 p.m. PST

no hausse col – gorget?

MarbotsChasseurs25 Jul 2020 11:07 a.m. PST

von W,

The team seems very responsive to any changes that should be made on their Facebook page.

Widowson,

I would imagine Baden troops as well? Similiar helmet with a slightly smaller crest I believe. Also, I think the Baden infantry lapels are slimmer, but in a pinch, these would do well.

Ps, the Hessian Sergent has an LdH hiding on his lapel! Great detail by the painter.

I did exactly that with these
