Apparently whoever wrote that is unaware that we have numerous AND very powerful "ikller missiles" and bombs of our own, with a global reach.
The quote below gave me a good laugh:
"…Beijing's Communist Party, reported that "the US again showed its hypocrisy and demonstrated that it is the real source of potential regional instability."….".
The Chinese always accuse others of what they are doing, or have done, e.g. illegally constructing numerous man-made islands in the South China Sea with no basis under international law, which really is the major source of tensions and instability in the region.
On the plus side, it certainly does give us some excellent gaming opportunities to try out various "what-if" scenarios. Lots of good one for air and sea battles, and even a few land attack skirmishes/invasions, if you are interested in "island hopping" like we did back in WWII.
The US, Japan, and China are all conducting drills for the latter, and even the professional wargamers are running some of the above scenarios.
I recommend Pico and Tumbling Dice 1/600th scale aircraft for this, and you can choose your preferred vessel scale(s). 6mm – 15mm for the invasion troops and armor.
Most of the needed jets are now available, but wish someone would make the Chinese J-7, and their smaller, twin-engine, F-35 clone, which I think might be the J-31 (can't remember for sure) in 1/600th, in metal too.
Rumor has it a navalized version of the latter might be used on their carriers, since the Sukhois are proving to be too large and uncontrollable to land safely on their carrier decks. The Chinese haven't figured out how to copy the Russian engines yet, and theirs tend to surge inconveniently when attempting to land at low speeds – throttle fine-tuning isn't working.
