"U.S. prosecutors have filed a lawsuit to seize the gasoline aboard four tankers that Iran is currently shipping to Venezuela, the latest attempt to increase pressure on the two sanctioned anti-American allies.

The civil-forfeiture complaint filed in the District of Columbia federal court late on July 1 claims the sale was arranged by an Iranian businessman with ties to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, a U.S.-designated foreign terrorist organization.

Since September 2018, the IRGC's elite Quds Force has moved oil through a sanctioned shipping network involving dozens of ship managers, vessels, and facilitators, according to the lawsuit…"

This could get "interesting", since Venezuela has a handful of those lovely, Sukhoi fighters.

Certainly at least, good fodder for "what if" scenarios, since a few weeks ago they escorted another vessel or vessels into their waters from Iran, and, there was a ramming incident by the Venezuelan Navy that didn't come off too well for them – the captain of the Venezuelan patrol boat managed to trash his vessel pretty well, not understanding how tonnage works when vessels crash together on "de 'igh seas".

Who knows? Maybe they will try and ram US warships.

Note to Venezuela navy, ram with a larger ship!

It doesn't matter what type of fighters they have. It does however matter how well trained and how much flight time the pilots get.

I'm pretty sure minimal would be the answer.

Yea, though they might have some Russian "contractors" or "instructors" assisting them.

I doubt it, but it is possible, and more probably if this escalates.
