"Darth Vader is nowhere near the young Jedi. Taking official numbers into account, MrSundayMovies carefully calculated how many people Luke killed in the original Star Wars trilogy. It's a staggering 369,470. Dammit, Luke. And it's just the original trilogy. Things like Timothy Zahn's books are not even included. Does this mean… he's really the bad guy? Or is it just Imperial propaganda?…" See here link Amicalement Armand |

Technically, some of those counted were killed by the Sarlacc, Luke just helped a little. And I think they double counted the troopers manning the laser turret on the Death Star. Now that I think about it, the Death Star was pretty aptly named. |

As far as the story goes ,I don't think Vader destroyed the Planet of Alderaan, if my memory serves me correctly that was Grand Mof Tarkins doing. |

The Death Star had 1.7 million troops plus 250,000 civilian workers. The loss is placed at the Empire's feet as they put everyone in a single ship. Classic case of putting all eggs in a single basket. They should have dispersed their forces. |
