I fondly remember making pemmican when I was in the Boy Scouts. We made one batch using dried buffalo and a second using dried fish (which I think was trout), and they were both pretty good.

My brother used to make us pemmican when he was in university – good stuff to gnaw on over studying for exams!

Hadn't had any C-rats in decades Wolf. We used up the stocks and were replaced by MREs in about '84 ! evil grin

When I was a kid in the 80's, we found a box of C-rats that my friend's dad had brought home from Vietnam. Most of the food was still good, but the cans that contained meat or eggs… no.
