I got back to my house about 9 PM after having a good Father's Day with my kids. I flipped on the TV figuring I'd watch a little bit of something, read some, then head to bed. "Midway" was coming on and ran from 9- midnight. I thought I'd watch an hour of the movie -- no way I was going to watch the whole thing since I had to work in the morning… Yep, watched the whole thing. It's not like I've never seen it before. All in all, a pretty good end to the day.

I love when the timing works out like that.

Not seen the new one yet, looking forward to it and wonder how they will compare.

Chester Nimitz is my favorite commander of all time.

I saw this in the theaters when it came out. It, like Heston's Earthquake, was presented in "Sensurround." The audio was enhanced with super sub bass audio that was not so much heard as felt as a high frequency vibration of the seats.

The novelty wore off very quickly.

I saw They Shall Not Grow Old in IMAX Dolby. When the heavy guns fired it felt like the air in my lungs compressed.

Always liked the music for this movie. Got it on a record and then got it on CD. Have downloaded it to digital and is now in my local online collection. Just ported the collection to my new PC that I built. Every once in a while I will play it before I go to or put on a Navel game to get me in the mood.

Do like it that the move does not have good/bad guys but tries to show each sides mistakes and correct decisions.

The music for Midway (original) was written by John Williams.Pj the new movie centers aroung the Enterprise and its pilots. It starts with Pearl Harbor, goes on to Doolittle's raid and then Midway. Woody Harrelson plays Nimitz and does a great job in my opinion. He looks alot like him. Dennis Quaid plays Halsey.

I am still trying to figure out how you show the Battle of Midway on screen for three hours without showing a single Wildcat. Good movie, but still a puzzlement.

I still have my Midway copy on VHS tape. I have had it since the movie came out
