So after two months of waiting, I finally contacted the supplier to say that my parcel had not arrived and could they initiate an inquiry with the Post Office. On the very next day, my overdue parcel arrived. So some egg on face and a hurried email to the supplier apologizing for wasting their time. If there's a moral to this tale, it's hang in there and be patient. |

AND, inquire in order to light a fire under people sometimes. |

I got two packages from England yesterday, one shipped 12 days earlier and the other 40 days earlier. I'd planned to inquire about the 40 day package when we hit the 45 day point. Go figure. Grelber |

Ordered a package 27 April and it arrived 17 June, so 51 days. |

Thresher you're right. On the same day (Tuesday) I contacted our local council to say that our garbage hadn't been collected (supposed to be picked up on Monday). Five minutes later a rubbish truck turned up. I don't know whether my call made a difference but I'm going to count it as a win. :-) Apart from these incidents it's been a good week – at least the rules turned up on the only really fine day. |

Where possible get a tracking number for all parcels – it helps protect both the buyer and the vendor, unfortunately not completely (DAMHIK). But it also gives you something to check on – is it at the Local Post Office just waiting, did it get delivered to the neighbors by accident? |

Our longest currently is about 9 weeks to arrive with a chap in Australia, but there's been a lot more in the 6-8 week bracket so far. @bsrlee: Sadly tracking isn't standard on packages from the UK, and tracking adds a huge amount to the price. We've got one AWOL currently which was £22.00 GBP for the standard Airmail shipping or £50.00 GBP if we wanted to get tracking on it. It's just not viable to add that level of extra cost to every package we ship out. |

All the stuff that I order in NZ has a tracking number. And it has been useful in tracking wayward parcels. My wife's order of clothes got delivered to the neighbour who lives behind us. The courier apparently couldn't tell the difference between 8 and 8a despite us having a 6 inch high brass 8 on the fence :-) |
