Not bad, but one of those attempts to use re-in actors film and the wrong terrain to recreate what one would think would be an excellent subject for a history based movie, of which the US does not do. Also, having the Americans digging in in broad daylight kind of subtracts from reality (smile). As always for recreation of a gun powder battle on film, no account is really conveyed as to the amount of smoke and dust that obscured the actual battle at the top of the hill. A number of events were left out such as the refusal of American reinforcements to cross the neck to support the troops fighting. Another point should have been to not use the term "Continental" when referring to the militia that fought, only days and weeks from working their fields and shops. |
