We now reach scenario 4 of the Chain of Command campaign 29, Let's Go! and after three defeats the Germans are in dire need of a victory to have any hope of stalling the American advance. Luck certainly hasn't been on their side, but could it change this time? The full AAR is here: Cardonville

Truly cracking game – I was convinced the minefields were a mistake and a mortar barrage would've been more useful. I was thinking I was right when that impressive US fire-base was established – what a juicy target. But then when all looked pear-shaped and you unleashed your counter-stroke the minefield showed its value in dislocating US movement. Luck looked pretty even this time and I think the US were caught out riding it too far. Well played! Only quibble is how they manage to lug that 50-cal around, it's heavy man…. |

Truly cracking game – I was convinced the minefields were a mistake and a mortar barrage would've been more useful. I was thinking I was right when that impressive US fire-base was established – what a juicy target. Thanks. I was tempted to consider the barrage, but I was fearful the FO team would become an immediate target and the barrage might be short lived. The only way the minefield was going to disappear was if the engineers could lift it and as luck would have it, they didn't do it in time. Only quibble is how they manage to lug that 50-cal around, it's heavy man…. Certainly is. I guess okay for a team of five. It gets harder when they are down to two men and impossible for one man, so the rules do make some allowance. |

I have really enjoyed these. I thought that double move was going to get you again…. Thanks. Yes, I had a horrible sinking feeling in my stomach when that happened, but what appeared a good advantage for the Americans may have ended up being their undoing. |

Enjoyed reading the report, wonderful. Makes me want to paint my WW2 figures, although patience is a virtue, as shown by the Germans in the game. Congrats, and looking forward to reading more! |
