Anyway, yes, we had tv dinners once in a while back in the 1960s-1970s.

We had tv tray tables, too, which we used a lot, whether were having a tv dinner, Chinese take-out, or just the little make-them-yourself open-faced sandwiches of voileipä.

The tv tables had folding metal legs and metal trays that clipped to the legs. They fit the tv dinner aluminum trays perfectly. The tv tables looked something like this:

Now that is a blast from the past! Remember them well

Yep I remember some of those metal TV tables. Have some very nice wooden ones, have not seen the metal ones in a long time.

Also "TV dinners" have come a long way since then !

That brought back memories and those Swanson frozen tv dinners in aluminum trays. That actually goes back to the 50s!
Lot of controversy too back then. Folks were afraid it was going to be the end of family meals at the dinner table.
Like Legion said, they have come a long way!

Playing with my army men. Sometimes my Mom brought a snack table in with a tuna sandwich on toasted bread, Jays potatoes chips, and a black cherry soda. HEAVEN!

I like Lean Cuisine and Smart Ones. I get them if they are on sale. But I'm still not lean or smart ! frown

But light years ahead of Swanson's ! evil grin

I remember eating those, though we didn't have those fancy tray-tables at my house, but my cousins did, so I did get to use those occasionally too.

They had yellow/beige tray-tables, as I recall, with some sort of flower print on them.

The Swanson chicken and mashed potatoes were quite good, though sometimes there was very little meat on the bones.

Fish sticks and fries were okay too, though the fries could frequently be a bit less than appealing. Certainly not anywhere near McD's quality.

I like the meatloaf too, with the tomato sauce. I preferred that to the more brown, meat-sauce they switched/switch too, from time to time.

Back in the day, with astronauts wrapped in aluminum foil spacesuits, and TV dinners made from the same, it certainly appeared as if the late 1960s was "the Aluminum Foil Age".

My Grandparents (world war 2 veteran and wife) that were retired in small town Victoria, Australia in the 1980s had tray tables remarkably similar to Oberlindes Sol LIC
