Played a rousing game of 1st Edition Saga using two new armies: link Check out some awesome pics. Steve |

Looks like a fun game. We played 1st edition Saga a lot. One of the guys would select figures from various armies to make armies we didn't have, like the Strathclyde British. While 1st edition was one of our go to games when we didn't have any scathingly brilliant ideas for the night's game, we have seldom played Saga since the 2nd edition came out. I've been wondering if everybody made the switch to the new edition, of if lots of folks were happy sticking with 1st edition. Grelber |

1st edition was a good game, but 2nd edition tidies up many areas and generally plays better; the battleboards are also better balanced. |

First was GREAT! Second killed Saga here. Sad. |

Strange. I find Saga 2nd edition to be much improved over first edition. Certainly the armies are much better balanced, especially in the Crusades book. Our group all made the switch as soon as it came out. |

The 1st edition Crusades lists were pretty poor, 2nd are much better. I guess some people didn't want to spend money on a new edition, although cost of rules is negligible compared to what most of us spend on figures. |

Well, 2nd Edition followed the GW business model of having players buy the game all over again, which we refuse to do. Buying the game again was necessary if you played it in the fashion it was designed to be played: tournaments. We play for fun and create our own scenarios. No need to re-buy the game when 1st edition worked pefectly for us. Have fun whatever edition you favor, Steve |

Big problem with Saga 2 is actually getting hold of the battle-boards for some armies. |

Tell me about it – I just paid $80 USD plus shipping for a copy of the "Aetius & Arthur" book. |
