First ever AAR but thought I'd give it a go.
Agincourt in 28mm, using a homebrew version of Rank and File(by Crusader Publishing) but modified for Medieval.
We're calling it Within the Hollow Crown, this is a play test. Figures are mostly Perry painted by me and my 12 year old son. The English are really War of the Roses figures we already had from a few years ago.

Henry and his band of brothers.

Henry Poses to show of his slightly dodgy free hand painting

Charles d'albret, come to finish of les Anglais

The cavalry charge into a storm of arrows, and lose two stands going unsteady, the next turn finishes them off and they rout. So fast they didnt even get a photo.
At least the Infanty are on the move though.

Steady progress against a hail of arrows, thats a lot of unsteady markers already. We decided to keep to the original battle plan of a full frontal charge against arrows rather then do anything sensible like fight the archers hiding in the woods or anything.

Finally someone makes it to the stakes ready for actual comabt

And the french actually win something, forcing the archers back, and getting access to the English men at arms.
(Yes the french are flying Stanleys flag because all the real french are dead by now)

The English Counter charge, win and force the french back. This is all thats left of 8 units. Well past the half units break point.
An English win and Kenneth Branagh would be proud.

Over all a good test of the rules. A bit of an odd senario to play as the English just shoot and then French mainly die. But I wanted to see if the rules could stand up to Agincourt.
Longbows get to fire up to twice a turn, to simulate rate of fire, and are meant to have a limited number of arrows to counter balance. We played unlimited arrows which was way too powerful and removed any real tension, the French had no chance. I think we'll play the senario again where French get free reign to use any tactics they like, instead of the die in the mud plan.
Should of taken more phots, but thanks for looking anyway.

Nice report.

The 'die in the mud' plan must have been popular in that neck of the woods. They were still using it 500 years later…

Nice game of a classic.

I played the old SPI "Agincourt" boardgame once. Once being the key word.

Great to see your son interested in historical miniatures gaming. So many kids these days are just into video games.
I love the WOTR. I have watched Dan Jones' "The Bloody Crown" documentary series about 5 times now. Fascinating period!
