So here's a (totally non-comprehensive) list of women in combat roles going back to 1500 BCE. If someone starts on a "women can't be in the military" rant, print this list out and start hitting them with it until they stop moving…"

There are indeed plenty of examples of women leading in combat, there are however far fewer examples of women fighting on the front lines. In all cases they are a very spectacular and rare group, of course it is pretty rare for most men as well.

As in all things make it by ability – each individual yes or no can they do the entire job as it really is not as the movies show.
