Now this looks really good. link It is primarily about the Decembrists but there are Napoleonic scenes and the representation of battle looks convincing. Hopefully a DVD will be out soon. |

Yes indeed the battle effects look very realistic! |

When I go into your link, I get a "message" from 'facebook," asking for my phone number. I never give out my phone number on line unless I am sure of the "requestor." I'll look up "The Union of Salvation" on YouTube, other. GdeP |

I think the impact of bullets on men is exaggerated in this movie, but clothing, hair dress, and even decorations on the chest look really good. YouTube link |

Interesting preview. Lots of troop, uniform, and action shots. |

@oliver Schmidt "I think the impact of bullets on men is exaggerated in this movie" I've seen much much worse (anybody remember "The Patriot"?). On one modern film you could almost see the bungee cords flying the casualties accross the set, despite the fact it was trying to portray modern small calibre high velocity rounds. Whilst rounds in our period are going much more slowly, they are considerably heavier and softer. This means they tend not to over-penetrate but impart almost all it's kinetic energy. Ultimately, if anyone ever thinks being shot is being over-dramaticised, I invite them to try it…. |

My take on the trailer was that it was representing cannister being fired (at least on the infantry). Also, I remember reading a few years ago that the kinetic energy imparted by the strike of the slow soft bullets was such that wherever you were hit, you were likely to be knocked down. I am with Handlebarbleep on this. |
