With the easing of restrictions here in Australia it's been great to get back to some face to face gaming and more importantly get our 29, Let's Go! campaign for Chain of Command back up and running. The Americans cut through the Germans like a knife through butter in the last game, so can my Germans put up a stiffer fight this time around? The full AAR is here Delaying Action at Arthenay

Great to see your campaign back up and running! I was holding my breath as the Yanks got ever closer and you waited, and waited… In the end double moves and good movement dice turned the drama into a crisis and I wondered why you didn't use your CoC dice for one or more ambushes to catch them in the open? It is starting to look very hard for the Germans unless they can get some terrain that shelters them from US fire at range. Anything like that on the horizon? |

Great to see your campaign back up and running! I was holding my breath as the Yanks got ever closer and you waited, and waited… In the end double moves and good movement dice turned the drama into a crisis and I wondered why you didn't use your CoC dice for one or more ambushes to catch them in the open? My deployment would have acted like an ambush, so there was no advantage to using the CoC die (you can only use it in your own phase and I was waiting for them to come into closer range, so an ambush wouldn't have saved me there). On the other hand I can use the CoC die for an interrupt during the enemy phase, but for that I need to have a unit deployed on the table already and of course I hadn't done that yet. In short, my men were caught napping, the Americans moved quicker than anyone expected. It is starting to look very hard for the Germans unless they can get some terrain that shelters them from US fire at range. Anything like that on the horizon? The next scenario requires the Americans to force the Germans out of another small village, but this time the Germans have those two Marders actually available on the table. With any luck that will keep the Shermans from doing anything too rash. |
