I am in the process of finishing up an old lead pile of Vendel Macedonians and am now looking for Persian opponents. I understand the old Vendel line is currently in the hands of Thistle & Rose. Has anyone ordered from them recently and,;if so, were the figures up to the prior Vendel standards? Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Robin

I ordered some and they were very good. The alloy was a little harder so mold lines were a little harder to remove. However, I was pleased and will be ordering more.

Just ordered some Vendel Orcs. Some of the castings were pewter as HS mentioned but the mold lines were generally minimal. I prefer a slightly softer metal to work with but think the castings were fine.

I would recommend them, jus built a massive Greek army, Persians in process.

Many thanks for all the responses. All sound positive which is exactly what I wanted to hear.

Good news. I have Vendel Greek Hoplites and I like them very much. Very stout and sturdy.

The Vendel line probably has the most complete line for building an Early Acheamenid Persian army around in 28mm. A really nice variety of Greek and Macedonian figures.

The Classical Indian line is really nice too.
