All, I'm ramping up for a Cold War campaign and I needed forces, so I went and got me some 6mm 3D-Printed armies from Bashytubits over on TMP; he was great to work with, allowed me to tailor everything exactly as I wanted it. Production was very quick, they were in my hands in no time, and I've finally gotten them painted up and wanted to show them to the world.
The whole mess: I've got Soviets (bottom left), West Germans (bottom right), Americans (top right), and British (top left). If you squint real hard and don't pay attention to the mismatched paintjobs, I could pull from the three NATO members to make some Canadians, too, sort of. The 3D-Printed troops come on a stand about 60mm x 30mm, with either 3 vehicles or a gaggle (14) infantrymen on it. They took awhile to clean up but look nice, were easy to paint up, and I appreciated the fact they came on a base.
Armor of the Soviet hordes!
West Germans.
BAOR.
And the Yanks. To see a bunch more pics, please check the blog at: link Another batrep coming up tomorrow, this time my first run out of the Osprey "Black Ops" rules. V/R, Jack |

Looks good. I got some T-34/85 turrets from him to convert my T-34/76. They turned out OK. Wolfhag |

Those look great! Are you going to use them with those Black Ops rules? That would be something. Getting the camouflage of the tanks to harmonize with the bases while still having the vehicles stand out is tough, and you have really pulled it off. Those are going to look great on the table. One thing you may try in the future: when printing the tank hulls some will look better if you tilt them upwards 15 or 45 degrees in the slicer. It mitigates that layered look. The paint jobs on these are so good it won't matter, but it's a neat trick to know. It's even more important with aircraft. |

Thanks man, I'm glad you like them will start the campaign ASAP, though I can't promise anything as I definitely suffer from 'too many projects' syndrome. Andrew, I apologize for the confusion, I'm not playing Black Ops in 6mm, and certainly not with these, I was merely trying to post pics of these and mention I will be posting a Black Ops batrep tomorrow, which I played in 15mm. I appreciate the tip on slicing, but I don't have a 3D printer, I got these from Tony ("Bashytubits," above). V/R, Jack |

I was joking about Black Ops. Sorry, too dry. I'm still boggling over the size of those armies. Someone's going to have fun. |

Ahh, forgive me, that's certainly my kinda humor, just hard to get a straight read on the internet, and I actually had someone on a different forum ask me how Black Ops worked with 6mm troops. I don't mean to toot my own horn, but if you think this is impressive, just give me another week or two and I'm really gonna blow your mind! Coronavirus has been really good to me ;) V/R, Jack |
